A few observations about London

This is a return trip, although when I was last in this city seems like a lifetime ago.
And maybe it was, considering that in some ways I have grown into a completely new person and anyway, the circumstances of a visit always informs the experience.

These are a few things that I have noticed using the only perspective I presently have to offer.

People are generally helpful, and seem to ask if you are lost if you happen to look anywhere besides the direction in which you are headed.

It is nice to nurse a pint standing on the sidewalk outside the pub.

Couples have the tendency to make out in public parks, pubs, street corners, bridges, top level of the buses, on the steps of the National Gallery and the like. A lot.

There is a really great cupcake shop in Covent Garden. I am sure there are more and am fully dedicated to locating them.

A lot of Ghanaians reside here and banku, kenkey, waachi and other favorites are easy to come by.

Distances always seem longer when you don't know where you are going.....

It was uncanny how you discarded me.
As if you had no room or understanding of what I had to give.

All I asked for was patience, and we, you and I, were almost there.

But it never was about we,
your ego clouded every moment as if calculated.
A manipulation into love without history.....playing hardball with past trauma.
Something to consume for yourself, with an expiry date.
I, remained, unaware of the game until now.

I am human. I have itchy feet, grief and messy feelings which I was willing to share with you.

And, I am sorry for your loss.

How could I have predicted that your presence
would be just another spurt of violence
among the many that tend to follow sudden liberation.

Never ever ever lie about love.
